Unifying two retail brands under a modern, style-forward identity.
Research revealed that customers were confused by the overlapping offerings of Bargain Outlet and Surplus Warehouse, despite both being part of the E.C. Barton family. This insight led to the development of Barton’s Home Improvement—a unified brand that clearly communicates its focus on affordable, stylish home solutions.




The new positioning combined low price with high style, resulting in a visual identity that feels modern without being overly trendy. The system was designed for long-term flexibility, allowing for the integration of evolving color palettes, design elements and photography styles without requiring a complete overhaul.
